Adding Internet TV to TV Broadcasting Systems

How can TV broadcasters add new services to their systems without an expensive system upgrade? As Dave Allred from Sezmi explained to me during the NAB trade show, broadcast TV and Internet TV can be combined in a hybrid system. The Sezmi system uses an advanced receiver and distribution device to gather broadcast programming in the home and retransmit it to the viewing set top box which can select from the broadcast channels or from Internet TV programming. The system allows the TV broadcaster to distribute programming on a wholesale basis and the consumer benefits from a large mix of broadcast and on demand Internet TV programming.
