Important Features of One-Way and Two-Way Network Conditional Access Systems

Operators need to prevent unauthorized viewers from viewing content and ensure the right subscribers are receiving access. At IBC, Daniel Wang from Sumavision explained that conditional access systems can enhance the reliability of authorization with pre-authorization, segment authorization and authorization auto-expiration to generate a system with higher security and faster encryption processing. Features of one-way network CAS systems include smart card management, event information schedulers, geographic restriction and ordered and impulse pay per view. Two-way networks can offer smart card encryption, which ensures a secure data channel for bi-directional interactive services. These systems can be applied for a variety of networks, including DVB-T, DVB-C, DVB-S, Mobile and IPTV.
