Adding Location and Content Identification Information to Consumer Generated Video
At the Harris press conference at the NAB 2010 trade show, the new president of Harris, “Harris Morris,” explained that there has been a dramatic increase in consumer generated content (such as news videos). As a result, broadcasters are having difficulty in identifying and ingesting these potentially valuable media sources. To identify contributed content, Harris has developed a full-motion video asset management engine (FAME) system that can merge location data (GPS information) along with other data (metadata) that can be used to identify and classify the contributed content.
