Enabling IPTV Systems to Work With New Device Types
During my interview with Ted Malone at Microsoft at the NAB 2010 show, he discussed that IPTV systems are now working with several new types of viewing devices. He explained that market research shows that gaming devices are likely to become a leading type of viewing device in IPTV systems over the next few years and the Microsoft Mediaroom system has been setup to manage the communication with these types of devices which need bandwidth allocation and prioritization.
