Standardizing the TV Production Workflow System

At the NAB 2010 trade show, a panel of experts from Microsoft, Ascent Media, and other companies explained that TV production workflow systems are evolving into integrated systems. They explained that a key focus is on standardizing the management of supply chain management and that the supply chain needs to be open and transparent. To accomplish this, the Ascent Media system uses a modular system design and has interfaces that allow integration with multiple suppliers that use different workflow systems. The system also manages metadata during content production to help organize and control workflow components.
