Qualities of Proficient Workflow Management Systems

Workflow systems must be able to visualize, control and optimize operational sequences and processes. All parties, including customers, suppliers, co-workers and entrepreneurs should benefit from a solution that provides automation of coordination - the right information, in the right form to the right person at the right time. At IBC, Andrew Johnston and Felix Froede from CEITON technologies explained that workflow management systems can help to seamlessly integrate a variety of tasks, including scheduling, cost tracking and accounting into production processes. Important qualities of a workflow management system include flexibility, enterprise application integration capabilities, performance and scalability. A favorable workflow system is web-based and does not just automate tasks, but reliefs people from expensive and error-prone manual coordination efforts.
