A Turnkey Approach for Unified Content Delivery Networks
Network service providers must face the demands of delivering content on multiple screens. These services must enable fast channel changing, offer packet loss recovery for Live TV and seek to increase the user experience and picture quality. At IBC, Jacques Le Mancq from Broadpeak explained that combinations of different delivery methods allow operators to use one team and one entry point to deploy user experiences to subscribers. Unified content delivery networks allow customers a variety of options, including combining OTT delivery with their own IPTV or Cable Service, or the combination of Mobile TV and IPTV. These solutions can also monitor content popularity based on usage patterns. Popular content is automatically pushed to the edge of the serves while the less watched content remains in the central library.
