Broadcasting on Multiple Platforms with Unified Media Services
Service providers including broadcasters, cable, telco and satellite must find inexpensive media delivery solutions for WebTV, Mobile TV and IPTV deployment. At IBC, David Stubenvoll and Alex Dobrushin from Wowza Media Systems explained that service providers can use unified media services to deliver content from a single encode simultaneously to a variety of devices such as Flash, iPhone, connected TVs, game consoles and IPTV set top boxes. In addition to full flash interactivity for chat, remote recording and collaboration, unified media services offer extensibility for integration with other services such as ad servers, authentication, content management, and billing systems.
