Integrating Access Connections to 1 Gbps – Ultra-Broadband Packet Services
Access providers need a rapid increase of usable bandwidth to meet the growing needs of Internet video and other service. David Pawlowski from V3 Technologies described to me during TelcoTV a key challenge that access providers are experiencing is the immensely growing demand for more access bandwidth, primarily for video streaming and high rich media services. He explained that access providers can dramatically benefit from the conversion of their existing systems to an access platform that can combine and manage multiple access channels as if it were one ultra-high broadband (1 Gpbs) packet access system. Having a single ultra-broadband access network allows service providers to add new services without significant changes to access systems.
