A recent study by MRG Research shows that OTT video services will grow from $1 billion in 2010 to over $20 billion by 2014. MRG Research shows that there will be an evolution of new types of Internet set top boxes (ISTBs). The figure below shows that ISTBS will evolve from hybrid OTT STBs to a mix of smart devices including tablets, phones, gaming consoles, connected TVs (smart TVs), and dedicated Internet STBs.
