Ways that Telecom Service Access Providers can Develop new Revenue Streams
Access providers are looking to develop new revenue streams from their access systems. Steve Klein from Allied Telesis explained to me during the TelcoTV that service providers are seeing a reduction in their revenue per bit on their access networks. The access provider may not be the primary media provider for a growing number of customers as customers move to over the top services. Access providers can leverage existing systems to offer new services such as security monitoring, healthcare (bedside concierge), digital signage, and retail services. Providing these new services for revenue generation does not require customers with full service plans. These services can be provided using cloud hosting (partner applications) which can dramatically reduces the capital investment costs while rapidly adding new revenue streams.
