Simplifying Home and Business IP Video Surveillance Services
Setting up video surveillance systems until now has been complicated and costly. David Rimmer from Intamac explained to me at the CES show that the benefits of using IP video surveillance systems simplifies and reduces the cost of surveillance systems and provides the ability to access video camera on a many types of devices such as multimedia computers, and mobile telephones. It also allows for video or images can be streamed and/or stored (recorded) via standard Internet connections. Smart video surveillance systems can monitor for changes in activity and provide messaging when events (triggers) occur and even send SMS messages to alert users or business owners of potential issues. IP video surveillance systems are relatively low cost compared to traditional closed circuit television systems (CCTV). Because they use standardized IP based communication, many people know how to setup and control the network connections and equipment. Some companies even provide Plug ‘n’ Play surveillance systems.
