Creating TV Program Listing Guides at Lower Cost
Creating program guides can be a complicated and costly challenge for television broadcasters. Robert Lemky from DSI explained to me during the TelcoTV show that there are alternative choices for sources of TV listings electronic program guide – EPG information. Program guide information can be provided in standardized XML or CSV format that allows the broadcaster to easily adapt it to their listing channel. All that is needed is a computer running a compatible MicroSoft Windows operating system. The system can even be setup to enable the insertion of advertising messages into the program guide.
