TV broadcasters can now offer their customers a multichannel viewing option using television widgets (TV apps). Michael Reib from Nordija explained to me at the IPTV World show that TV broadcasters can use widgets to deliver a multichannel display (up to 16 live channels). Users can simultaneously view the channels, choose their audio, and select which programs to view in full screen. The Mosiac application enhances the ecosystem between the broadcast system and the customer providing for new services, increased media consumption, and increased revenues. Nordija provides an open platform that allows broadcasters to create and share TV apps (widgets).
