Transitioning CATV Systems into IPTV Systems
If you own or operate a CATV system, there are some key advantages to transitioning cable systems into an IPTV systems. During my interview with Phillip Cardy at the TelcoTV trade show, he explained that CATV systems are transitioning to offer TV services over multiple platforms including over the top (OTT) television (Internet TV). He explained that Latens uses an open platform that allows the service providers to integrate conditional access systems with middleware solutions. Eventually the customer will watch TV from anywhere and various playout formats including Linear, DVR, NPVR, OTT, and OTT Third Party.
