Cross Platform TV DRM Security – A Unified System that Automatically Detects and Configures Devices
Providing content to multiple types of devices for most TV broadcasters can be complicated. Yonatan Seta from Tvinci explained to me at the IBC show that TV broadcasters need a platform that can securely provide content to multiple types of devices including connected TVs, video devices (e.g. Blu-Ray players), multimedia computers, and smart phones. TV broadcast system operators need a unified management system that includes APIs that allow the communication with multiple types of devices and services. The system should perform automatic device detection and capabilities discovery of each device. The system should also be able to perform measurements and analytics for the usage of each type of device allowing for behavior profiling.
