TV Service Portal Generator –Adding TV Services without Viewer Interruption
TV broadcasters can benefit from being able to install new services without forcing an update to the STB which interrupts the users viewing experience. Magnus Persson from DreamPark explained to me during the IBC show that TV broadcasters must introduce new services to better compete and traditional service updating methods can be very disruptive to the viewer. Systems that can perform hot installation of new services can install the new services without needed to reboot the STB. This allows new applications to be downloaded at any time giving TV system operators with the flexibility to rapidly deploy and update new services.
